Community Service

We are proud of our commitment to our community.  Janet has been the Vice President of the Board of Directors of The Friends of P. S. 169 for over 25 years.  P. S. 169 is a school located on East 88th Street that is a multi site special education school for emotionally disturbed children, many from economically disadvantaged neighborhoods.

Debra joined The Friends over 10 years ago.  But has assisted whenever needed for 20+ years.  We raise money to send these wonderful children away to a special camp in upstate New York, Camp Ramapo, who also specialize in emotionally disabled children’s needs.  There they are able to swim, pet animals, do arts and crafts and have a week or two of being able to just be a kid.  We are very proud of our service and are thrilled to say we’ve sent hundreds of kids to camp over the years.

Debra recently joined the newly formed Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center Business Professional Council.  A wonderful service offered to children between the ages of 10-22 years of age who need healthcare, psychological care, eye care, dental and/or emotional.  A free service in a day when insurance is next to impossible to get!
