The Adler family has a long history of entrepreneurship in NYC. From the 1920’s through the 1990’s, Adler Shoes (of “Adler Elevator Shoes” fame), run by the Adler family, maintained stores throughout the New York City area, including their 42nd Street headquarters.
Babe Ruth (ca.1940) was a customer of Adler Shoes. He’s pictured here with “Old Man Adler”.
